Bio
Oso Durian is a Mexico City-based contemporary artist and photographer. He works between photography, portraiture, painting, and installation, moving freely between the studio, the set, and the gallery.
He grew up between cities. New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Mexico City. That movement shaped how he sees: an eye trained on fashion, sharpened by contemporary art.
He studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York, with further studies at Parsons and the International Center of Photography. Early in his career he assisted Steven Meisel, Patrick Demarchelier, and Steven Klein, learning the discipline of the photographic set from the inside. That foundation runs through everything he does: the precision of editorial work carried into something more personal.
His photographs have appeared in Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue Paris, Numéro, Nylon Korea, and Purple Magazine, with collaborations including Helmut Lang. As an artist, he has presented projects at Art Basel, Frieze, ARCO, and Zona Maco Volta, with exhibitions in museums in Denmark, South Korea, Argentina, and Mexico.
He is available for commissions with brands, magazines, agencies, and creative collaborations.
